Antique Carriage Clock Repairs

Here at the Carriage Clock Company we specialise in the repair and restoration of all types of makes and models of carriage clock.

Our horologists are experienced in repairing and maintaining antique carriage clocks, and hold many spare parts in stock in order to offer a reliable and efficient service.

Over time the workings of any clock will face age related wear and tear, a carriage clock with its delicate components are more susceptible to this than larger clocks. Our experienced team provide mechanical repairs, cleaning, lubricating, and the replacement of worn parts to ensure your item is returned to you working as good as new.

The beauty of a carriage clock doesn’t just lie in its function, which is why our team can also carry out cosmetic repairs, such as case polishing, dial repairs and replacing broken or missing glass panels.

More serious repairs can be carried out if needed to repair or replace broken components, with our team able to cut new wheels and fabricate new parts should replacement parts not be available.

As with most things preventative maintenance is essential for the longevity of your carriage clock, which is why our team are happy to discuss maintenance plans and offer free advice for clients looking to protect their items from undue damage from neglecting maintenance.

Our Repair Process

Step 1

If you have a carriage clock you would like to be repaired start by reading our Services page, where we detail the type of work we do.

Step 2

When you’re ready to go ahead fill out the form on this page or by hitting the button at the top of the page that say ‘Book A Repair’.

Help filling out this form can be found here.

Step 3

We’ll be in touch with an online estimate for the work and to arrange the shipping of your carriage clock to us. If you have asked for packaging to be sent out to you we will get this in the post.

Step 4

Once we receive your carriage clock one of our horologists will inspect the clock and any work required will be noted.

An estimate for the work will be emailed over to you, and we will await approval before starting the work.

Step 5

Once you approve the estimate, we will begin the work.

The timeframe for this varies but most clocks have the repair work completed within 4-6 weeks. The clock is then tested for two weeks to confirm the clock is operating correctly.

Step 6

Once we’re happy the clock has been repaired to our standards we will notify you the clock is ready and an invoice will be sent out to you.

Once paid we will send the clock back to you in our packaging

  • Excellent service. He said it would not be quick, so I was happy with a longish wait. Expensive but worth it for an excellent job.

    Mathew

  • Recently renovated and repaired my mother’s carriage clock and returned it to a pristine condition despite dodgy repairs previously undertaken elsewhere. The clock is now ticking merrily away in our front room reminding us of my mum every day.

  • Michael restored my badly damaged carriage clock. He kept me informed of progress with the repairs, was interested in my clocks and when he delivered the clocks to me, I received a full report with photographs. A very skilled and pleasant craftsman who I would highly recommend.
